Editor in Chief
As Editor in Chief, you will be PEACH’s top dog. It will be your role to ensure that the outlet runs smoothly across all sectors while continuously coming up with new and innovative ways to keep members engaged. In other words, you’ll be the captain of the small but strong ship that is PEACH. You must be forward-thinking, creative and passionate about PEACH as both a magazine and a creative space. While your own responsibilities will vary depending on how you choose to shape your team, some of Lara’s responsibilities as EiC included:
- Forming the 2020/21 committee alongside the Deputy Editor
- Heading the design process on the website remodel alongside the Deputy Editor
- Leading the design and print processes for the print-runs
- Editing content for online and print publication
- Signing off on all published content
- Assisting in events and social media planning
- Acting as the main point of contact for and between all committee sectors
- Managing committee administrative duties such as attending Heads of Media meetings
The role is a broad and engaging one that gives you the chance to work with a great range of people both within your own outlet and across different media outlets and societies. It is an excellent resource that allows you to build a strong network while providing you with a set of skills and experience that will look great on your CV.
As Deputy Editor, you will be PEACH Magazine’s second-in-command. It will be your role to support the EiC in the overall running of the outlet. After all, you can’t command a ship without a co-captain. Like the EiC, the Deputy Editor must be forward-thinking, creative and passionate about PEACH as both a magazine and a creative space. You must also be willing to support the EiC and PEACH administratively. While your own responsibilities will vary depending on how you choose to shape your team, some of Ameerah’s responsibilities as Deputy Editor included:
- Forming the 2020/21 committee alongside the Editor in Chief
- Heading the design process on the website remodel alongside the Editor in Chief
- Assisting in the design and print processes the print-runs
- Editing content for print publication
- Working closely with Events and Workshop to produce PEACH events, both regular and none
- Developing creative and innovative content ideas for Liberation Months
- Applying for grant funding
- Managing committee funding and administrative duties such as expense claims and accounts
As the Editor in Chief, the role of Deputy Editor is a broad and rewarding one. Like the EiC, you will get to work with a great range of people, both within your own outlet and across different media outlets and societies. It is also an excellent resource that allows you to build a strong network while providing you with a set of skills and experience that will look great on your CV.

Drop-in Q&A Session with Ameerah and Lara
We will be hosting multiple events leading up to the elections. The first will be a drop-in Q&A session with Ameerah and Lara. They will be available to answer any and all questions potential candidates may have about elections, PEACH, campaigning, etc. The Q&A session will be hosted on February 23 from 6 – 8 pm on MS Teams. Because the session is drop-in, there is no need to sign-up. You can access the meeting via this link. A link to the session will also be provided in the PEACH Instagram bio.
Candidate Meet and Greet
Once all the candidates have been confirmed and voting has opened, we are considering hosting a candidate meet and greet. This will be an opportunity for voters to get to know the candidates and ask them any questions they may have. This will not be a debate. The candidate meet and greet will be confirmed as an event if all candidates consent to its happening and we can settle on a date where all candidates are available. For more info on the meet and greet, follow this space and the PEACH socials.
