Calling Black Artists and Creatives! Sign up to perform at our Black History Month Event: On Black Voices
Diaspora Speaks and PEACH Magazine are excited to present: On Black Voices!
In honour of Black History Month, Diaspora Speaks and PEACH Magazine have decided to team up and host an open-mic night dedicated to spotlighting the work of Black performers, artists and creatives. Happening on Thursday, October 22nd from 6-8 pm via MS Teams.
We are so excited to have the brilliant Saramarie as our host! Saramarie studied English at Queen Mary University of London between 2017-2020. Her research interests are in (postcolonial) race theory and decolonisation, feminist theory, contemporary literature, and popular culture. She recently completed her undergraduate dissertation on representations of museums as remnants of imperialism in Black British and diasporic literature. An experienced hoster, Saramarie is brilliant at bringing life, excitement, and a great atmosphere to her events. We are so excited to have her host On Black Voices!
If you are a Black artist, creative and/or performer and would like to perform your work, then you can sign up to perform now! Performances of poetry, prose (fiction and non-fiction), music, theatre, etc. are all welcome!
There are only 10 performance slots, so make sure you sign up quickly. Please note – if you are based outside of QM then the deadline to sign up is the 7th of October.
